The basics
What does Storeshift actually do?
You give us your eBay storefront URL. We scrape every public listing, run titles + descriptions through Claude (rewritten in your chosen tone, optimized for Shopify SEO and TikTok Shop policy), remove product image backgrounds, and emit a Shopify-importable CSV + processed images. You drag-drop the CSV into Shopify Admin and you're live.
How long does it take?
Most stores under 2,000 listings finish in 30-90 minutes. The biggest variables are how aggressively eBay rate-limits us that day, image count, and how many listings have variants.
Do I need a Shopify account first?
Yes. Storeshift produces the CSV; you import it into your existing Shopify store. If you don't have one yet, sign up at shopify.com first (they have a free trial). Run our 5-product free preview while you wait.
Do I need to give you my eBay password?
No. Never. We only scrape your public storefront — the same data anyone visiting your eBay store URL would see. We don't log into your eBay account, we don't access private eBay seller tools, and we don't talk to eBay's API.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
$19 base for runs up to 200 listings. $0.10 per listing above that, capped at $599 for catalogs of about 6,000 listings or more. The exact amount is shown before you authorize payment.
The 5-product free preview lets you see the AI rewrite quality before paying anything.
When am I actually charged?
We use Stripe's auth-then-capture flow. When you click through Stripe Checkout, your card is authorized for the projected amount, not charged. We only capture the charge after the run completes successfully and your CSV is ready. Failed runs void the authorization without ever charging your card.
What if my run fails?
If our pipeline fails before producing your CSV, we void the authorization automatically and email you about it — no charge to dispute. If a run partially completes and you're not satisfied with the output, email us within 30 days and we'll refund.
Are there any recurring charges?
Optional monthly sync starts from $19/mo. After your first conversion you can subscribe to a recurring re-pull of your eBay store — we dedupe against your existing Shopify catalog and email a delta CSV. Every base conversion charge is one-time per run; the sync subscription is opt-in and cancellable from the dashboard.
The output
Will the CSV work with my Shopify theme?
Yes. The CSV uses the standard Shopify product import format that every theme supports. We populate the Google Shopping fields by default so your products are ready for multichannel syndication (TikTok Shop, Google Shopping, Facebook Shop) without further edits.
What about variants — sizes, colors, etc?
We handle eBay's MSKU multi-variant listings and convert them into Shopify variant rows. Each variant gets its own SKU, inventory count, price, and (where eBay has them) variant-specific image. Real Shopify variant pickers, no manual setup.
Do you write the descriptions or just copy them?
We rewrite. Claude reads eBay's full long description as factual grounding and rewrites the body HTML to match your chosen tone (e.g. "professional", "playful", "luxe") and audience. The original eBay text isn't shipped verbatim — it's the source material Claude pulls facts from.
Distinctive product names (your design names, e.g. "Cheshire Cat Hoodie", "Wicked Nun Tee") are preserved verbatim. We don't sanitize the AI output; any policy-flagged terms are surfaced on the Review page so you can decide keep / edit / remove with full context.
Will the AI mess up my product specs?
Possibly. AI is good but not perfect. The Review page is there for exactly this — every product's rewritten title + body is shown next to the original eBay text, and you can edit inline or click "Fix" to re-prompt the AI with steering. Spot-check before importing.
TikTok Shop + policy
What's the TikTok Shop policy review?
TikTok Shop has stricter content rules than eBay (medical claims, weapon-adjacent terms, certain brand keywords trigger automatic removal). Our policy review pass scans every rewritten title + body for known triggers and surfaces the matches on the Review page. See the Review Guide for the full breakdown.
Why didn't you just remove the flagged words automatically?
Because some flags are legitimate. If you're an authorized brand reseller, you're allowed to use that brand name. If your design is called "Wicked Nun" and that's its actual product name, we shouldn't be renaming it without your say-so. Flagging puts the decision in your hands.
Run management
Can I cancel a run mid-way?
Yes. Click Cancel run on the run page. We void the Stripe authorization (no charge), stop the worker, and clean up partial outputs. You can always start a fresh run with the same settings.
I changed my mind about the tone — do I have to start over?
For the free preview: no. You can regenerate the preview with a different tone up to 5 times for free. For a paid run that's already complete: the Review page lets you edit individual titles + bodies inline, or click "Fix" to re-prompt with new tone steering. If you want a wholesale tone change across the entire catalog, the cleanest path is a fresh run with your clone-settings option.
Can I run the same store twice?
Yes. You can run the same store again whenever you want. If you expect ongoing changes, monthly sync is usually the cleaner path because it only processes newly changed listings.
What if my eBay store has 10,000+ listings?
We support runs up to 10,000 listings at the $599 cap. Above that, contact us — we can run larger jobs but they require manual pipeline tuning.
Privacy + data
What happens to my data after a run finishes?
- The output CSV + images stay on R2 for 30 days, then are auto-deleted.
- The run row + event log stays in our database for 90 days, then auto-purged.
- You can delete everything sooner from the dashboard.
See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't have a "data feed" we sell, an analytics partnership, or anything resembling that. We charge for the conversion service; that's our only revenue.
Other
Can I get a custom run / white-glove setup?
Email us. For larger sellers (5K+ listings, special category requirements, custom theme integration) we'll sometimes work directly with you. Pricing is by agreement.
Will you support [Etsy / Mercari / Poshmark / Depop]?
On the roadmap. The architecture is marketplace-agnostic; adding a new source is mostly a scraper + URL pattern update. eBay is shipped first because that's where the biggest demand is. If you need a specific marketplace sooner, email us — demand signals shape the roadmap.
Can I become an affiliate or refer customers?
Not formally yet. If you want to refer someone and you're a paying customer, mention us by name when you do — we'll usually credit your account when they convert.
